Sponsorship in Indian Football has gone a long way since some years. Since the original  National Football League , the Indian league has always been sponsored. When the I-League began in 2007 the last sponsor from the old National Football League,  ONGC , where brought in as the sponsors, making the league be known as the ONGC I-League. However, after the  2010–11  seasons, the deal with ONGC was not renewed and the I-League was left without a sponsorship deal till 2013. On 24 September 2013, it was announced that  telecommunications  company,  Airtel  would be the new title sponsor of the I-League, thus making the league known as the  Airtel I-League. FC Barcelona Posts Highest Revenue In The History Of Sports At $770 Million

Spanish soccer giant FC Barcelona reported record revenue for the 2015-16 season of €679 million or $750 million . Barcelona recently ranked fourth overall in Forbes annual look at the world’s most valuable sports franchises at $3.64 billion. Only the Dallas Cowboys ($4.2 billion), New York Yankees ($3.7 billion) and Man United ($3.69 billion) are worth more. The tally puts the world’s third  most valuable sports franchise  at $3.55 billion on pace to meet its target revenue of €1 billion by 2021. Barcelona is set to begin a $650 million renovation of its Camp Nou stadium next year. The project will modernize the stadium, expand capacity to 105,000 seats and further generate revenue. In addition to the stadium renovation, sponsorships are key to Barcelona’s future revenue growth. Marketing represented the club’s biggest revenue stream at 37% in 2014-15. Football is India's second most popular sport. Traditionally it has enjoyed popularity in the regions such as West Bengal, Goa, Kerala, Odisha, Assam,  Manipur,  Meghalaya, Mizoram,  Nagaland,  Tripura   and   Sikkim. The origin of football in India can be traced back to mid-nineteenth century when the game was introduced by British soldiers; clubs were soon set up around the country. Calcutta FC was the first club to be established in 1872, started football as late as 1894. Other early clubs include Dalhousie Club, Traders Club and Naval Volunteers Club. Several other football clubs like Sovabazar, Mohun Bagan  and Aryan Club were established in Calcutta around the 1890s. The team Indian is achieving success in the Champions Trophy, Asian Cup qualifier and Hockey World League. This week was an action packed week where in cricket India won against Bangladesh in the Semi-Final of the ICC Champions Trophy and made its way to the Final against Pakistan on 18 th of June 2017, Sunday at Oval, England.
