Sports in India is shaping up in a new way, while the business associated with it are reaching far greater heights. I t is not as if Indian football clubs have nobody to back them. Some examples stand out. Kingfisher sponsors East Bengal Club, while McDowell's sponsors Mohun Bagan Athletic Club. Aircel is the title sponsor for the Shillong Lajong Club, Airtel was the sponsor of I League. There are others that are sponsored by compa nies such as ONGC and Coca Cola, with companies Reliance, Hero Motocorp, ozone group, HTC, Muthoot Pappachan, Amul, Servo, Apollo,Samsung all are coming up to sponsor Indian football. INDIAN FOOTBALL BUSINESS AWARDS : THE FILMFARE OF INDIAN FOOTBALL INDUSTRY

India was always regarded as a ‘non-footballing’ nation across the globe due to its poor performance in the international arena. But little did the world know that Indian National Football Team started playing the game in the summer of 1938 and went on to win 2 gold medals in Asian games and getting a fourth place in 1956 summer Olympic games.
